Virtual Drop-In Hours with Medical Students (MCG)

Interested in meeting and getting advice from current medical students? Medical students from the AU/UGA Medical Partnership Campus will be holding virtual drop-ins Wednesday, April 17th from 7:00pm-8:30pm. All questions are welcome including how to build a resume, how to pursue shadowing, how to study for the MCAT, what medical school is like, etc.  (Ask the M1s about what it was like to do an MMI style interview!!)

Pre-Professional Coffee Hour

Attention, pre-health and pre-law students! Stop by for coffee and conversation with your pre-professional colleagues and ambassadors Wednesday, April 17^th from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Outside Tate Student Center near the UGA Bookstore. Virtual Navy Drop-Ins

A Recruiter for the US Navy will hold drop-ins on Wednesday, April 17^th from 11:30AM – 1:00PM. They will discuss the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP), a program designed to assist students with paying for medical, dental, PA, nursing school, etc., while also training to become a commissioned officer in the US Navy.

Reapplicant/Gap Year Workshop

Did you apply this cycle to medical school? If you did not get the expected response, attend this Reapplicant/Gap Year Workshop on Thursday, April 18^th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in MLC 153. This workshop will help you examine your previous application as you prepare to update your materials for the upcoming cycle. Attendees will also get ideas about what to do during the year to make the application stronger.

Healthcare Professions Panel: Physical Therapy vs. Occupational Therapy

Does a career in rehabilitation interest you? Not sure whether to take a physical therapy track or an occupational therapy track? Join us on Tuesday, April 23^rd from 6-7 P.M. via Zoom as we will hear from panelists in these professions. Dr. Mack Phillips, DPT, is a UGA Alum and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Augusta University. Dr. Charles Shadle, PPOTD, OTR/L is an Associate Professor and Site Coordinator in the School of Occupational Therapy at Brenau University.  He has been an OT for over 25 years.  We will be hearing from them about their education, everyday duties, and experiences that led them to their current professions.

Admitted Students Panel

Are you applying to medical school in the upcoming cycle? Have questions about the process? If so, attend this Admitted Students panel on Tuesday, April 23^rd from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM in MLC 348. Attend this event to listen and talk to your peers accepted in the last application cycle. The AMCAS, AACOMAS, and TMDSAS applications open in early May. Get suggestions from these students that may help with your application.

Admitted Students Panel

Hear from a panel of students admitted to law schools in the 2023-2024 cycle. Find out more about the application process and what happens once you are admitted to law school. There will be time for Q&A. This event is ideal for anyone about to apply to law school or those who are interested in applying in the future. Mock Interviews & MMIs

The Pre-Professional Advising Office (PPAO) and the Career Center will continue to offer Mock Interviews and Mock MMIs for students who have been invited to interview at a health professional school. The PPAO will conduct the mock MMIs, and the Career Center will conduct the mock interviews. If you have been invited to interview with a program that conducts MMIs, you can register for a mock MMI here. If you would like a mock interview, you can register here.
